2010 Stimulus Check Update

Sunday, July 4th, 2010

The 2010 stimulus check has been rumored for many many months now, going back to fall of 2009 if there was going to be one or not.  There was hope of a 2010 stimulus check after the major successes of the 2008 stimulus check sent out by President Bush and the 2009 stimulus check sent out by President Obama.

However, at this time, there is no 2010 stimulus check planned for 2010.  Had there been a stimulus check this year, it would have already been in the process of going out starting sometime around may or june of this year.

Keep checking back to see if there are any updates on the 2010 stimulus check.

How has the 2009 stimulus act done for creating new jobs?

Sunday, July 4th, 2010

Have you ever stepped back and thought about one of the original reasons the 2009 stimulus act was created and how it measures up to what actually happened?  The stimulus act was originally set up to provide new jobs to help with the ever raising joblessness rate.  If you look at how the money was split up, it didn’t do very well to create new jobs.

By tracking the money it was split up into roughly three thirds.

The first third was used as tax breaks to those that already had jobs.  Yes, it was nice for those of us that had jobs, but the little amount that we did save was meant to be spent to stimulate the economy.  Which is hard to track how well that worked out.

The second third was used to add funds to health care and education budgets to help teachers and other people make it through the falling incomes collected by taxes to pay salaries.  Teachers and other people in this field keeping their jobs is a good thing, since teachers are teaching the youth of America.  That is a field we can’t do without.

The final third was meant to create new jobs.  The money was sent out to grants and other channels with the intention of hiring those that didn’t have jobs.  The road improvements by far did the best for creating jobs and also doing something that has been needing to be done for a while now.  As for the rest of it?  There have been numerous reports of spending the money on needed upgrades in equipment and keeping people on payroll instead of laying them off.  With very little going towards hiring new people.

How did it fair, not very well if you ask me.

To figure out how this relates to the 2009 and 2010 stimulus checks that money would have been part of the tax breaks.  It has been helping people keep afloat in this tough economic times and not really spent on random things to keep the economy going.

Stimulus Check Date

Thursday, May 13th, 2010

The stimulus checks were sent out over a set schedule the last couple years.  The date the stimulus check was sent out varied for the year it was sent out.

2010 Stimulus Check

There is currently no stimulus check in 2010. Therefore there is no set date that the stimulus check is set to go out on.

2009 Stimulus Check

The 2009 stimulus check was sent out between late April and late June to those on social security and retired military.   These checks were worth $250 dollars.

2008 Stimulus Check

The 2008 stimulus check was sent out to everyone in American 18 and over.  These checks were worth $600 if you paid at least $600 in federal taxes.  Less if you made over a max limit cap.

Another Stimulus Check / My Stimulus Check

Monday, May 3rd, 2010

Is there going to be another stimulus check? Is there going to be a 2010 Stimulus Check? Where is my stimulus check?

Currently at this time there is no plans for another stimulus check in 2010.  President Obama and others have been trying to pass a bill through congress that would free up additional money to cover the Billions it would cost the Government to have a second stimulus check in 2010.

That is, excluding the tax cut that those working are still receiving along with the housing tax credit of $8,500.

Do You Have To Claim Your Stimulus Check You Received In 2009?

Sunday, May 2nd, 2010

The stimulus check that you received in 2009 is not tax detuctable and something you don’t need to file on your taxes in April 2010.  You will not need to file it on your taxes.

If you were working or on unemployment during 2009, then when you file taxes any part of the stimulus package that affected you will automatically be taken care of.  Any benifits from the stimulus check will be worked into the 1040 form.

Are we getting a stimulus check for 2010?

Friday, February 12th, 2010

Currently there is talks of getting a 2010 stimulus check that would be similar to that of the 2009 stimulus check.

This 2010 Stimulus Check would be another $250 stimulus check sent out to those on social security, and military veterans that qualify.   For those that are working, there is still a $400 yearly tax credit that is applied to the entire year, so instead of the $20/paycheck you saw for the half of 2009 it was active, it will be a bit less because it is being covered over the entire year of 2010.

Is there a Stimulus Check for 2009

Monday, January 25th, 2010

Is there a Stimulus Check for 2009?  When did the Stimulus Check 2009 come out?  When will my 2009 stimulus check come?

Yes, there was a 2009 stimulus check for those that are seniors, retired, veterans.    It was a $250 stimulus check that was sent out during the summer of 2009.  If you qualified you automatically got it, as there was nothing you had to apply for.

If you think you should have got one but didn’t, contact either your social security dept., you military veterans dept, or the rail road retirees dept.

I’m interesting in applying for a stimulus check for my mother, who’s is 76yrs old and is currently on a fix income.

Monday, January 18th, 2010

Stimulus Check Question: I’m interesting in applying for a stimulus check for my mother, who’s is 76yrs old and is currently on a fix income. So any money can help, What steps i need to do to obtain these funds?

Answer: The stimulus check isn’t something that you apply for, it is something that you either qualify for or you don’t.  The 2009 stimulus check that were sent out last spring/summer were sent to those on social security (as of Jan 2009), military veterans and retired rail road workers.  If your mother was in any of those categories, she should have received a stimulus check.

There are stipulations such as, if she was working (which may or may not apply to your mother) she would not get a $250 stimulus check, or else would have to pay it back, because she would be getting the higher amount tax credit taken out of each paycheck.

Going into 2010 there is possible word of a 2010 stimulus check again for those on social security, and possibly for the veterans.  Those that are working are still getting the same tax credit on each paycheck to total $400-$600 over the coarse of the year.

2010 Stimulus Check

Monday, November 16th, 2009

Currently at this time there is no 2010 Stimulus Check.

President Obama has recently gone to Congress to get them to approve a bill that will allow those on Social Security and Veterans to receive a $250 check similar to that of the 2009 Stimulus Check.  At this time there is no official word on when or if these stimulus checks will go out.  However it is likely that these checks will go out late spring / early summer in 2010 if and when they do happen.

For the rest of America that are currently employed.  There more then likely won’t be a 2010 Stimulus Check because of the tax credit that has been set aside for everyone.  Remember how you are paying ~$20/week less in taxes over the year as a Stimulus Check?  That same amount will be deducted from January 1 to the end of the year, so it is possible that it will be more like $12-$15/week instead.
